“Greetings everyone, my name is KiraKreates, and well, I create neat stuff! I have been cosplaying for over 3 years and creating content for 4 years. In that span of time I’ve built not just 1 but 2 Iron-Man suits, built a multitude of props, and have gained a wealth of knowledge for 3D Printing, where to buy cosplays, etc.

YouTube has been a passion of mine since I was a young kid and I’ve always wanted to pursue it, and being able to dress up as characters I’ve been deeply connected with was perfect for me. It’s helped me discover things about my gender identity and sexuality as well, and cosplaying female characters has really affirmed me with my feminine side.

From cosplaying anime girls, to Spider-Man, and to Iron-Man has sent me on one heck of a journey including traveling to many cons with friends, to podcast appearances, to interviews and publications, and now to guest appearances! I’m so happy to share my journey with everyone and I look forward to the wacky adventures that are in my future and to share my growing knowledge with the world!”

She continued to shine at the NYCC Crown Championships of Cosplay, placing in the top 3 Best in Show category two years in a row. This year, her journey came full circle when she was invited back to judge the Crown Championships of Cosplay at ECCC, the very stage where she first competed!

“I have made costumes for my children from an early age, but I never did an official cosplay until I attended the second Grand Rapids Comic-Con. In 2014 I started attending cons regularly and always wanted to create something new for each season.

They started as Thrift Store and Duct Tape work, but in 2017 I taught myself how to work with foam. Since my cosplay journey began I’ve made a point to teach myself a new skill with each new cosplay. Since then I’ve made close to 50 cosplays for myself, family, and friends.

Many cosplayers have a signature cosplay, but I change with the seasons. Depending on when you meet me you may know me as a different character: Juggernaut, Maui, The Hero Killer Stain, Gladiator Hulk, Luisa, Peacemaker, or many more to choose from.”

Our event space for this show will be on two floors of the Virginia Rep Center, with artist alley being a room upstairs near the theater stage and we will have photo booths and back drops up there as well.
